Breakin' the rules

With daddy working late it was time to get creative. Yep, bikes in the house. The kids thought it was great and it wore them out!!!

Dallas has been full of great little quotes and I thought I would share a few with you......

When they were riding there bikes he said "Mom, this is fun" Me: "I know your mom is cool" Dallas: "NO! Your pretty" Me: "Okay"

Yesterday when we were playing lincoln logs I accidently knocked it over. Dallas: "Mom, its okay. I trust you." Boy do I just love this guy!

Hmmmm

I was watching 60 minutes the other night and there is the guy at the very end that gives a little speech. (if you watch it you will know what I am talking about) He was talking about our new LOVED president. He said that Roosevelt (one of the best presidents) was hated when he first became president. But yet he changed the world. Obama seems to have nothing wrong with him and people will do what ever he says....including believers.
When I sat there and listened to what he was saying it gave me a sick feeling in my stomach. But I am going to trust the Lord and do what I can....Pray.

Currently I am....

Reading this book. So far so good. I asked a great friend of mine if she would be willing to meet with me and tell me her secrets of organizing her home. I tell you she is fantastic....have you guessed who it is yet?? Yep she has kids.....3 of them in fact. (amy bayley is her name :) You can go to her house and it always seems in order. I have always wondered how she did it. So instead of wondering my whole life I decided to ask her for help. Before we met she wanted me to read a few chapters in this book. It really was eye opening to me. It showed me that it was so much more than "keeping a tidy home" And yes she is blessed to be organized, but I really think she is doing it for the Lord.

Proverbs 31:27 She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.

I am excited to let the Lord teach me this truth and to seek Him in what I should do with my time. For a long time I always made the excuse of not having quiet time. Well I did away with that lie. I am now going to work towards using my time that I am given to give Him glory in everything that I do. I feel like I finally understand what that means in a way.

Thanks Amy for being such a Godly example in my life! Your friendship means a lot to me.

Also if there is anyone out there that wants to read through the book with me and talk about it I would love that!

i HEART this one

I think this is my best one yet! I have pretty much got the hang of the boning and excited that it can be removed in and out. Hope you like it as well and that you are telling all your friends :) I really think that sewing is my new therapy.

Oh and if you want to buy it....click on the link to the left of the page.

Haircuts

The kids got their haircuts this week. We usually let Dallas' hair grow and grow until we can't put up with it any longer. He HATES getting his hair cut, but I am pretty proud of him. He did the best yet!! I gave him the option to go to a salon or for me to cut it and you can see the choice ;)
Reese wanted to cut her hair like her friend Jaclyn. Pretty cute. It is a inverted bob.
And if you or your kids need a haircut......Great Clips is only 7.99 until January 27th :)

Best of both worlds...

Thank you all so much for your ideas and encouragement. I sold one so far ;) I am excited to see where this will go. And if I only make them for friends it will still be fun. I added boning to this one so that you be able to see the baby at all times. What do you think?? Should this be a must for all of them or just an option?? I am thinking I may just have the boning removable??

Hideaway Nursing Cover

Man do I ever have a hard time making decisions! I really like the name Hideaway, but it is not my favorite. If you are wondering who the winner is....it is myself ;) I was thinking today of another name "the Ultra Modest Girl" To many words probably. Anyway....here are few choices I have at the moment. Tell me what you think. I am not really sure what direction to take in this. Is this something that you would prefer over the Hooter Hider?? Tell the truth....
And if you are wondering what the back looks like. It is the same as the front. 20$?

Sweet Pea

Posted by Picasa
When you leave your 5.5 year old alone to watch the baby.......you may just get a princess in return.  So sweet!

Norah is now 8 months!  I can't believe how fast this time is going by.  I have to say I am so blessed.  She is pretty amazing!  I don't think she is going to be crawling anytime soon.  She just loves to sit and observe what is going on around her.  If I even think about putting her on her tummy she screams.  (unlike all my other kids)
She also loves to clap and say 'da da'  I think I heard 'ma ma' a few times
she is very good at feeding herself cheerios, eggs and cheese.  She doesn't like being fed by a spoon as much.  Unless it is sweet potatoes.
Oh and yes.....she still loves to be swaddled.  I will have to post a picture of that soon :)

why dwayne is so awesomer then me

He rocks and stuff. He can spin a fire staff. He can grow the coolest beard. Cooler then all the beards in the universe combined. He has awesomest dance moves and power waking skillz. He has awesome style and compton hacking skills. If there was a radness meter and it was used on him he'd probably overload it into a hugist explosion with all his radness.

Birthday Wishes

Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday Dear ABBEY
Happy Birthday to You!

You are one great gal!!

Hebrews 12:11
No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

I would have to say that we have battled with Reese for a long long long time when it comes to eating. It has pretty much been from day 1. I have done what I felt was everything possible to get her to eat dinner.
going to bed
having her sit until it is finished
thinking she just doesn't like meat.....so giving her beans instead
just trying 1 bite
no treats for a week
eating it for breakfast
etc....
She is strong willed and is totally fine with not eating dinner. She is also totally fine with not having a treat and making sure her other siblings who DID eat get some sort of treat.
And why do I care so much?? Because I think it is flat out RUDE & Disrespectful to have a sour face. Because she doesn't just do it to me. And on top of that the other kids pick up on it and have been doing just the same. Needless to say I have started to HATE dinner time. I was envious of friends who kids just ate what they said or were respectful EVEN if it was something they didn't like.

A few weeks back we were at bible study. The Menu..... Roasted Pork, Soup & some vegetable. I immediately knew what was going to happen.
"mom this is yucky" "how many bites" "what is for treat" along with sitting there silent with the face of disgust. When this happens I usually will bring it up with who I am with. I guess this is a way for me to let people know that I have tried "what I felt was everything". So I started talking with Joy. I basically told her that I have tried everything and I just don't know what to do. She went on and said that if they are not doing what we ask them to do then they are being disobedient. It really hit me. This whole time it is not about eating. It is about listening to your parents and obeying them. Now I realize that we do not like everything we eat. And some kids just don't like meat. But for Reese I seriously don't think that is the issue. We have let her control us in this area. So after rapidly asking her to eat her dinner and not listening to us. We calmly took her to her room and disciplined her. We explained that this is NOT going to be a problem any more. That what she is doing is causing her to disobey mom and dad. Strangely she totally got what we were saying. That is wasn't about food it was about obeying your parents.
I have to say that dinner has been something that I now look forward to. She still asks whats for dinner, but that is not because she won't eat it. She is also being a great example to her brother and sisters and I am very grateful for that.
Praise the Lord. I am so grateful for His word that teaches us. I am thankful for the community of believers that has given me wisdom.

Amber told her that it would hurt and after she did one ear she would have to do the second ear. She said "how bout you do the second ear first"We been telling the kids that Norah can't have anything to eat because she is to little. Dallas walks in the hospital and get up to look at Norah and says: "I want to see if she has a mouth"In the morning when the kids wake up they come and crawl in bed with us.
