Reading this book. So far so good. I asked a great friend of mine if she would be willing to meet with me and tell me her secrets of organizing her home. I tell you she is fantastic....have you guessed who it is yet?? Yep she has kids.....3 of them in fact.
(amy bayley is her name :) You can go to her house and it always seems in order. I have always wondered how she did it. So instead of wondering my whole life I decided to ask her for help. Before we met she wanted me to read a few chapters in this book. It really was eye opening to me. It showed me that it was so much more than "keeping a tidy home" And yes she is blessed to be organized, but I really think she is doing it for the Lord.
Proverbs 31:27 She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.
I am excited to let the Lord teach me this truth and to seek Him in what I should do with my time. For a long time I always made the excuse of not having quiet time. Well I did away with that lie. I am now going to work towards using my time that I am given to give Him glory in everything that I do. I feel like I finally understand what that means in a way.
Thanks Amy for being such a Godly example in my life! Your friendship means a lot to me.
Also if there is anyone out there that wants to read through the book with me and talk about it I would love that!
For some reason I missed this post, and just saw the one above. Boy, I guess I need to start reading...my organization has gone out the window. My excuse is always "it takes money to be organized" yada yada yada. Pretty much I just need to spend my idle time off this computer and in tidying up the home. I guess that means I better go. See ya, bye.
ReplyDeleteI started writing it up last night that is why it didn't show up earlier....so you are caught up :)
ReplyDeleteYou forgot to mention that she has a fourth "kid" to clean up after.
ReplyDeleteThank you Amber for bragging about my phenomenal wife.
I started reading through that book last spring around the same time we started Grace group. I didn't finish it mostly because I had too much going on and was about to have Lil but what I did read I really liked. It would be fun to try to read it again and be able to talk about it.
ReplyDeleteI just put the book on hold at the library. Can't wait to start it.
ReplyDeleteI think I actually have this book somewhere. Maybe it's time for me to finally get around to reading it:) Home management is a huge area where I am weak and I know the Lord wants to grow me in it (heart/attitude/spiritual fruit and practical fruit). I get overwhelmed with it so easily. And I definitely agree, Amy Bayley rocks!:)
ReplyDeleteI was just praying for some daily motivation and for some reason reading this post gave it to me. I think I have that book but haven't read it. I'm going to look for it right now...
