After??
I have never liked our front entry way light and have been wanting something different. I was sitting and wondering what I could do and this came to mind. Not sure how it will actually work with a light in there, but since I already have the stuff it is worth a try I guess. Although I love this bird cage, so it would be a shame to mess it up for nothing. What do you think??
I also saw this picture in a Martha Stewart magazine and I think that I am going to attempt to do it by hand....?? Just on those two walls in the corner. We already have the paint, so I figure I am not out anything.
I also added another item to my etsy page....check it out HERE
OK, first tell me why you don't like the old one, I kind of like it. The new idea is good, it's fun, eclectic, original...either way I think you win. :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, where are all your comment-ers??? Come on people, this is Amber, she's fun, has a fun blog, leave her a comment!
I kind of like your light that you have now... It doesn't detract from your family pictures/other fun print. If you use the birdcage, I wouldn't put your pictures back up in that same space because they'd get lost competing with the birdcage light. Just a my opinion... I LOVE the paint idea though!! Go for it! You could even use the basic outline shape of your current light and it would work well like they played off of/accentuated the top of the grandfather clock... The reason the paint effect works so well in the Martha pic (to me)seems to be that it is the fun background to a fairly simple object.
ReplyDeleteIf you need help with the light situation feel free to give Justin a call! :)
ReplyDeleteI also like the original light, but if you don't like it, than I think it does require a change since it is your house! The birdcage idea is so much fun, but I am having a hard time deciding if I like it in that space or not. I think if I could see how the light looked coming out of it, that would help. Does that make sense?
ReplyDeleteThe paint technique is really cool! Does the church have a projector that you could borrow? Those home shows often use those to trace a design onto the wall to paint.
Have fun! Your house always looks cute and designer, so I know however you finish the front hallway will look that way too!
I'm a little late in giving my 2 cents...I must have missed your update post.
ReplyDeleteAnyhow, I'm not a fan of the birdcage...but I do like the paint idea!
