The 7 Year Itch

Collin and I have been happily married now for almost 7 years. March 25 will be our 7th. Lately as we have been approaching this time in our life people have said "oooo, the seven year itch" I never really new the full meaning of the statement so I decided to google it today.

Meaning:

The inclination to become unfaithful after seven years of marriage.

I assure you there ain't no itching going on here! So I can now rest easy at night knowing the meaning of the phrase. And looking forward to our whole life together.

Ecclesiastes

I used to think of this book as "the book of depressing" I got that title from my good friend Amy and I agreed with her. We started going through it at our church and I have been loving it! It is teaching me so much truth and I can't wait to hear more. Yesterday it was going through Chpt. 5 "Taking God Seriously" was the title to the sermon.

Ecclesiastes 5:1-2
Guard your steps as you go to the house of God, and draw near to listen rather than to offer the sacrifice of fools; for they do not know they are doing evil.
Do not be hasty in word or impulsive in thought to bring up a matter in the presence of God. For God is in heaven and you are on earth; therefore let your words be few.

Now after going through it for awhile now I don't think it is depressing. A lot of stuff is hard to hear, but encouraging at the same time.

Flowers for me??

My hubby came home yesterday with flowers! I have to say that my heart leaped inside. I felt special, loved, and most of all cared for. Last Tuesday at MOPS the discusion was on marriage and she was talking about the 5 Love Languages. I read the book before we got married and enjoyed it and at that time I probably could say I was only one, Quality Time. In case you don't know what the 5 are:
1) Words of Affirmation
2) Quality Time
3) Acts of Service
4) Recieving Gifts
5) Physical Touch
I think about it now and I realize I want it all, but it narrows down to quality time. So when he gives me flowers it makes me feel like he spent TIME thinking of me. And to me that is one of the best feelings especially because it was so unexpected. Love you babes!

My tough little Rambo

Yesterday Dallas and Reese were playing outside when I was making dinner. Dallas must of been extra clumsy because he had been getting hurt all day. Well as I am cooking I hear him cry yet again and go outside to comfort him. He didn't cry to long and I am hugging him to make sure that he is okay. As we start to head inside I realize that there is blood all over my hand. Of course I start to freak out (without letting him know I am freaking out) not knowing how big of a cut he actually has. So I take him to the kitchen sink and wash it out with peroxide. Owee. Although it wasn't something that needed stitches there was still a lump and I didn't want it to swell to much. So mommy got creative and tied ice to his head....much easier than him holding it and he of course thought he looked really cool. I love you my tough little Rambo!

Is Mommy an Octopus?

I am not sure how it will look or how it will come about, but I have decided that I want to write a children's book and Title it: "Is mommy an octopus" With having multiple children I am often put in situation where I am helping one child and the other needs help and they want it now! Take this morning for instance. I was getting the kids ready because we have MOPS today and I needed to make 2 bowls of oatmeal and 1 bowl of cereal. Because the oatmeal takes 1 minute to cook I decided to put one in the microwave and make a bowl of cereal to be efficient. Once it the micro beeped I took the first bowl out and put the other in. I then proceeded to give Dallas his cereal and put Ava in her highchair with her oatmeal and as I am doing so Reese looks to me and says "mom, what about me?" I then turn my head to her and say "hmmm, is mommy and octopus?" She laughs and says "no you don't have six arms (I correcter her an stated they have eight)" But in that moment I thought....this would be a great book! So I am going to get my brain working and write a kids book. Unless you all comment and tell me you wouldn't buy it :)

A Fabulous Find!

My kids just love Applesauce! I hate buying it for the very fact that we can go though a normal size jug in about 1.5 days. And if you want the good stuff with no added sugar you have potential to spend a lot of money (at least in my house). I went to Costco awhile back and decided that I was going to buy the big industrial can of applesauce. I didn't even look at the ingredients because I loved the price to much. $2.67 I believe. When I got home and opened it I was shocked at what I found.

That's right....Apples and Water baby! So I will forever be a purchaser of Costco Industrial size applesauce. And my kids will love me for it :)
