The good things about being sick.....

Friends buy you flowers

Husband takes a day off work

Husband watches the kids you were supposed to babysit

Friends call to see if you need anything at the store

You can eat lots and lots of popsicles

You can lay in bed all day and not feel lazy

You can get the homework done for your bible study

If you normally can't nap, you can when your sick

You don't smell the dirty diapers

You don't smell your husbands burps and farts

I don't like being sick!

Last night I started coughing and by the time I went to bed I had a sore throat. If being pregnant isn't hard enough there is absolutely nothing I can take to make it better. I think about the days when I could call in sick and lay in bed all day long watching TV. If I were working now I still wouldn't be able to do that because I have 3 cute little buggers in my face saying...."Why are you sick mom?" They assume that mommies have superpowers and should never get sick. So my medicine today has been rice topped with buffalo sauce so that my nose will clear up and I can breath for a few minutes.....Might sound a little gross to you, but my # 1 craving right now is Hot wings, so it was really good! So I pray that my recovery will be quick and my whining will stop.

My blogging obsession...and a Collin quote

First I have to say that I am starting to begin to obsess what I will put on my blog. Things keep happening and I say "oh, that is definitely a blog moment!" I enjoy reading about the lives of others, so I can only assume that people feel the same way about me. I mean I am just plain interesting....right? J/K.
This morning at church I had to adjust my headband without a mirror. It is one of those ones that has two headbands in one so there is a chance you can have some hair sticking up in the middle of it. So I turned to Collin,
"Does my headband look funny?"
Collin: No, it's not making me laugh.
Well honey.....there is one thing, you always make me laugh!

Our Little Minds....

Last night was my friends baby shower. Any time I go somewhere I have to tell my kids so there is no hearts broken when I get my coat on.
Reese & Dallas: "Well who is going to watch us?"
Mom: "Your dad"
Reese & Dallas: "oh....well make sure they don't eat all the cake"
Mom: "Don't worry they won't I will save you a piece"

This morning Reese woke up and was all excited to eat her piece of cake. It is the All American Chocolate cake from Costco. Yum! I advised her that we will have it after dinner tonight.
I then started to make them breakfast and we are all sitting around the table. She looks at me in deep thought...
Reese: "Mom did you take ALL your clothes off at the shower?"
Mom: (I giggle) No dear, you shower with presents....it is just an expression."
Reese: "oh (still not fully understanding) when I am a mom I will go too"

Color is Fun!

My new challenge

So I have decided to challenge myself and try to attempt to teach Reese how to read. I have been recommended this book by several people and I am hoping it has the results it "guarentees". I have been struggling greatly on which road to take on my childrens education. I love the idea of sending them to a private school, but financially it just can't happen right now. I am sure if we really wanted it to we could pinch things and make it work for one kid, but we have 3 more that will shortly follow and that is just so overwhelming to think about. And just to clarify I have nothing wrong with public schools, I would just prefer to send them to a Christian school. My other challenge that I will shortly face in the next month or two is making the descion on wether I will homeschool or not. I for the longest time said I wouldn't do it for fear that I would not be the best teacher. I just never thought I could have the patience to teach a child how to read. So I am looking forward to this book and if it works I think that I will have my answer. I will keep you posted on the progress we are making :)
